Lance,
Your wood rosettes are so beautiful and clean looking!!!
Do you ever use burl wood?
Maybe burl wood is difficult to cut out?
Thanks for the pic's.
Never get tired of looking.

Walter,
I didn't find it any more difficult than any other figured wood. Just take it slow and use sharp bits.
Lance had a demo of this earlyer and I fallowed his lead.
The center of the rosette and head plate in the forground is cherry burl.

I find that if you flood the burl on both sides with cyano it helps to stablize it. Set it aside and let it dry for a day. Then cut the rosette out. Good sharp down cut spiral bits work good. Beleive it or not the HSS bits are sharper than carbide.Bobc38444.5064467593
